Promotion of business development is a political priority in Oldenburger Münsterland. Here, the arguments and requirements of economy meet a customer-oriented administration. Solid budgets and innovative ways of safeguarding sovereign tasks and designing up-to-date local conditions are the characteristics of regional municipalities as committed partners. Self-employment is highly appreciated in this region and setting up a business is being intensively promoted. The number of company start-ups per 10,000 employed persons was 52.4 in the district of Vechta and 51.5 in the district of Cloppenburg between 1997 and 2000, which is significantly higher than the average in the Federal Republic of 47.6.
The common goal of further developing framework conditions for entrepreneurial success interconnects the region, its rural districts and all 23 towns and municipalities. In a cooperation of public and private partners, all companies can take advantage of information and encounter services. The unity of location and economy in the sense of a long-term economic policy will stay the characteristic of Oldenburger Münsterland.
