The AGRITECHNICA is taking place from 13th to 19th November in Hanover. It is the largest exhibition worldwide for agricultural technology. This year 2,600 exhibitors from 48 countries are exhibiting their products over a surface area of 320,000 square metres. Amongst them there are 27 companies from the Oldenburger Münsterland.

Franz Tölke GmbH in Lohne is all set for success. Participants of an informative visit organised by the Verbund Oldenburger Münsterland discovered more about this. The business which was set up in 1965 meanwhile has 85 employees and produces machines for the drinks industry as well as sorting systems for lids and vessels for the cosmetics industry as well as other areas. Modern sorting systems for bottles nowadays can handle 300 bottles per minute, explained Heinz Tölke, son of the company founder. The company supplies customers all over the world. Over 50 percent of the machines are exported, according to Tölke.

“A secure supply of energy at competitive costs”: The energy policy aims, initiatives and projects of the European Commission offered a lot of subject matter for discussion on 16 September in the Great Hall of the University of Vechta. Around 100 responsible persons from industry and politics in the Oldenburger Münsterland made use of the opportunity to exchange thoughts and opinions with the EU Commissioner for Energy, Günther Oettinger.

Composite Innovations Award for ZF Lemförder: ZF Lemförder has been awarded the CFK Valley Stade Convention prize for light construction. The company received the Composite Innovations Award 2011 for the concept of an innovative brake pedal. The award was made on the occasion of the international congress in Stade which attracts more than 400 specialists from the materials research and aeronautics industries. With the lightweight construction component made of organic sheet – a fibre composite material – and injection moulding engineers from ZF Lemförder in Damme demonstrated how, after a development period of only five years, as much as half of the weight can be saved without making any compromises with regard to safety and stability. In addition, the lightweight construction eliminates the necessity for a significant number of production process steps and thus guarantees economical manufacture. A further positive aspect is that the material used by ZF Lemförder can be completely recycled.
