Home Region Living

A place to live!

| Print |

Living in Oldenburger Münsterland means excellent living qualities out in the open with manifold possibilities for living and leisure time activities in the close vicinity. The urban flair of Bremen, Oldenburg or Osnabrück is not more than 50 minutes away.

One’s own home with a garden is significantly easier to afford than in other places. The most current average price per square meter even in our towns is 50 to 100 Euros, while the average in Northern Germany is mostly at 130 Euros or in South Germany even at 280 Euros. The share of own homes in the rural districts of Cloppenburg and Vechta is about 80 %. The living quality in the generously planned settlements for homes is outstanding with an average 6 rooms per home and 123 square meters of living space. Family homes in our towns are mostly available for 150,000 to 190,000 Euros.

As distinct family persons we particularly appreciate the comparatively low-priced living costs as well as the child-friendly residential and living environment. Here, an optimistic attitude to life is prevailing, since the people’s confidence creates confidence in others. We cultivate tradition, neighbourhoods and circles of friends. The manifold activities of parishes, clubs, village or street communities invite to come together. Those, who still think that Northerners are stubborn, should come and visit the strongholds of carnival and festivals in Oldenburger Münsterland!

With its rural way of living and its variety of landscapes, the Oldenburger Münsterland offers an extensive range of short vacations and recreation in the immediate vicinity full of excitement. The regional recreational areas Barßel-Saterland, Dammer Berge, Hasetal and Thülsfelder Talsperre as well as the northern part of the district of Vechta are an important address particularly among bicycle riders. Activities in this vacation area also comprise fun sports as biking or skating and in other places rather exclusive types of sports as horseback riding, sailing or golf. Renowned cultural institutions are the Euro-Musiktage in Bösel, the gallery in Lindern, the open-air stage (Freilichtbühne) Lohne or the Romberg concerts in Vechta. A manifold concert and theatre offer of the district music schools, the University of Vechta and the Stadthalle Cloppenburg add to this.
